The Indian Coriander Seed is a favorite spice around the world. The floral, cool and smooth flavor is perfect with meat, lentils/beans, sausages, pickles, curries, soups and even teas and some desserts. Its lovely aroma dissipates faster than most spices after grinding… so use it fresh!
More About The Indian Coriander Seed
The coriander seed comes from the plant that also produces “cilantro,” another spice that comes from the leaves. In order for the plant to mature and produce seeds, the “cilantro” leaves must be removed. This plant is only one of very few that produces two spices within one plant.
We carry two types of coriander seeds: the Indian Coriander Seed and the Canadian Coriander Seed. Click here to shop and read more about the Canadian Coriander Seed.
Read more about the differences between the coriander seed and cilantro, here. They are both referenced differently around the world. In this blog post, we take a look at how and why.
